"Kit Water Tanks"
Manufactured from Timber!
Timber tanks are ideal for any form of water storage. They are attractive, natural, and eco-friendly, to enhance any property.
How Do They Work?
A Timber Water Tank consists of a treated Radiata Pine barrel tensioned into a rigid cylinder by galvanised steel bands. Water is retained in this barrel by a Food Grade PVC liner fitted inside the tank. A conical timber shingle roof seals the tank from the outside environment.
Why Timber?
Timber water tanks can be built on any level site, even those with difficult access, without the need for cranes, fork lifts or even vehicles, and there is no disruption to established gardens or landscaping beyond the actual base area of the tank. This is because these kit tanks can be carried piece by piece by hand to the site, even through household doors.
The benefits of Timber Water Tanks, when compared with other construction options such as plastic or steel illustrate the inherent advantages of the timber tank design.
- Timber water tanks have a pleasing, natural, aesthetic appearance.
- Erection in limited access areas is no problem, as the individual components for the tank can be hand carried through very narrow spaces.
- All timber components have state of the art protection from termite attack.
- The life expectancy of Timber tanks is in excess of 80 years.
- Earthquake and cyclone resistance proven in practice throughout the Pacific.
- Timbertanks can be dismantled and re-erection at another location if required.
- The timber used in timber tanks is plantation grown - a renewable resource.
- The kit Timbertank can be erected by a handyman in under a day.
- Timbertanks require minimal maintenance.

How Are They Delivered?
Kit Timber water tanks are packed rapped and strapped in a skid, comprising all the components required to erect the tank.
Build It Yourself Assembly?
Kit timbertanks are designed and manufactured to be erected on a compacted earthen base. Timber kit tanks do not require concrete pads or special footings, and can be erected by a handyman and helper in under a day. Erection can be completed with a shovel, rake, hammer, adjustable spanner, and a philips head screwdriver. However erection times can be greatly reduced if you have a 13mm tube socket with ratchet, and a power screwdriver, with a Phillips head screw driver bit and a 3/8 hex head driver.
